Dartmouth College’s Class of 2022 graduated June 12th at a Commencement ceremony held on the Green. Within the flanks of ‘22s included six MockStars, who also became the newest Dartmouth Mock Alumni. In this article we will highlight their time at Dartmouth, what they took away from Mock, and their future plans. Congratulations to all of the Class of 2022 MockStars. We will miss you dearly and wish you the best of success in your future endeavors!

Naina Bhalla ‘22

  • Major/Minor: Double Major in Government and English

  • Non-Mock extracurriculars: Photo editor for The D, DREAM mentor, First Year Trip leader (2019), writer/performer for Voices, Policy Research Shop, Neukom Scholar research, Presidential Scholar research, Alpha Phi DEI Task Force

  • Favorite Dartmouth Mock memory: During my sophomore winter, we competed at Brown University, where my twin sister went to school. She joined us for dinner on the first night, I got to play a really fun witness (and won my first witness award!), and we had great car rides to and from the tournament. Definitely one of my favorite weekends :)

  • What you gained from Dartmouth Mock: Along with some of my best friends at Dartmouth, I learned a lot about teamwork and mentorship from Dartmouth Mock.

  • Future plans: I’ll be at Boston Consulting Group in the D.C. office (and hopefully can work a case with Paul one time).

  • Side note: Naina is one of the best photographers. If you’ve ever read an article in The D, you’ve likely seen her work.

Samuel Selleck ‘22

  • Major/Minor: Major in Sociology Modified with Economics, Minor in Public Policy

  • Non-Mock extracurriculars: Public Policy and Sociology Research, Learning Fellows, Alpha Chi Alpha

  • Favorite Dartmouth Mock memory: DPC (dundies planning committee) with Sebastian, Margaret, and Vanessa at ORCs in Dekalb

  • What you gained from Dartmouth Mock: Learned to be comfortable and confident (especially when speaking) even when not fully prepared :) also became friends with so many amazing/smart ppl

  • Future plans: Working as a research analyst at a small hedge fund in Boston, considering law/graduate school

  • Side note: Sam is President of the Dundies Planning Committee. This might be the most coveted position within mock. Will get back to you on this.

Harish Tekriwal ‘21

  • Major/Minor: Double Major in Quantitative Social Science and Government

  • Non-Mock extracurriculars: Solar Energy Research with the Irving Institute, Rush Chair for Alpha Chi Alpha

  • Favorite Dartmouth Mock memory: Mock trial spring break in Florida!

  • What you gained from Dartmouth Mock: I learned what it takes to be a good lawyer and what makes a compelling witness. It made me a stronger public speaker, a more persuasive writer, and a better actor. And between all the late night planning sessions, tournament travel, and social events, I made my best friends!

  • Future plans: Director of Business Development at an electronics recycling company in Washington, DC

  • Side note: Harish was Mock President for the ‘21-’22 year!

Kayshav Prakash ‘22

  • Major/Minor: Major in Mathematical Data Science and Minor in Theater

  • Non-Mock extracurriculars: Casual Thursday (Improv), Tour Guide, First Year Trip Leader, Math Research

  • Favorite Dartmouth Mock memory: Playing a washed-up Late-Night show host Freshman year

  • What you gained from Dartmouth Mock: I gained a literacy for the law and legal terminology that has allowed me to follow celebrity divorce cases with more insight

  • Future plans: Graduate school in Statistics!!

  • Side Note: Ask Kayshav about weddings. You won’t regret it.

Paul Hager ‘22

  • Major/Minor: I majored in Economics and Government with a Minor in Spanish (technically called Hispanic Studies)

  • Non-Mock extracurriculars: EC-wise, I was a Senator on Student Assembly, a leader in Cabin and Trail, a War and Peace Fellow, a Presidential Research Scholar, and worked in Rocky's Policy Research Shop.

  • Favorite Dartmouth Mock memory: Hard to pick just one memory, but I think I’d have to point to some of our tournament shenanigans. From dancing at an in-hotel bar in Rhode Island to raiding the breakfast spread at 1 AM in Durham, NH to rerouting a flight back to the US to Florida so I could hit the beach with the team after ORCs, tournaments have always had a way of bringing out our team’s fun side.

  • What you gained from Dartmouth Mock: Mock Trial let me deepen my love of public speaking, taught me about the law and what goes on in a courtroom, and gave me a strong interest in law school. But more importantly, I had some of my best experiences in college with the team, and met some of my closest friends through Mock.

  • Future plans: I’ll be working in consulting, as an Associate in BCG’s Boston office, starting in the fall. I'm also considering applying to law school sometime in the near future, but no promises!

  • Side note: Paul is Self-Anointed Outgoing President of Gingers of Mock Trial — “excellence, beauty, and sun damage” is their motto

  • Non-Mock extracurriculars: The Sings a cappella, Raaz, Designer and Events Lead at the DALI Lab, Women’s Club Basketball, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Palaeopitus

  • Future plans: investment banking analyst in nyc
