ORCS + Sending Off Our Seniors!

This update’s a long one, so buckle up!

As our 2025-26 season begins, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on an eventful and rewarding spring for Dartmouth Mock Trial. From competitions to team milestones, it’s been an exciting few months, and we’re excited to share some of the highlights with you.

New Rochelle ORCS

On March 15th and 16th, both Dartmouth Mock trial teams competed at the New Rochelle ORCS in New Rochelle, hosted by Iona College. The teams faced stiff nationally ranked competition, such as Boston University, Columbia, Harvard, Boston College, MIT, and Wellesley. While neither team came away with a bid to Nationals, each team performed at a high level demonstrating poise and determination.

Program Captain Kavya Nivarthy '25 said "This was the toughest ORCS competition Dartmouth Mock Trial has faced in recent years, and I couldn’t be prouder of how our two teams took on the challenge, delivering some of our best courtroom performances yet, winning ballots against top national teams, and earning individual commendations from judges experienced in trial advocacy. It has been such an honor to witness our team’s growth and success over the past two years, and I am so grateful to have competed with this driven and tight-knit group. I can’t wait to see what Dartmouth Mock achieves in the future."

Sending off our seniors!

On Memorial Day Weekend, Dartmouth Mock Trial held another successful senior night. The weekend began with a series of celebrations for the departing seniors, followed by a fun new trial case crafted by Carter Anderson '26, and ending with a series of bequests.

Throughout our season, we've had the privilege of watching all our cherished seniors--Dylan Griffith '25, Margaret Bone '24+1, Kavya Nivarthy '25, Beatrice Burack '25, Armita Mirkarimi '25, Anna Chabica '25, and Alex Joel '25--compete in their final trials. The entire Mock Trial team owes much of its success over the years to their contributions. These seniors were integral leaders, holding roles such as President, Program Captain, Director of Tournament Logistics, and Director of Membership. Their leadership guided the team to remarkable achievements, including our program's first National Championship berth in over 16 years last year. As seniors, they captained our teams to 1st and an honorable mention at the Quaker Classic Invitational. The wins continued into the winter, with both teams securing bids to the Open Round Championship Series, and many members receiving individual accolades as witnesses and attorneys.

Beyond the courtroom, they served as mentors and sources of guidance for younger members, offering their wisdom and experience at every step. Their impact on the team is immeasurable, shaping the next generation of Dartmouth Mock Trial.

We can't wait to see where their journeys take them next!
